I tried out emacs-wiki-journal.el, a module that comes with Emacs Wiki: Emacs Wiki Mode. It is supposed to be good at managing a weblog or journal. So I tried it out a bit just to see what the format was like. It had a reasonably useful format for entries, so I manually converted each of the entries into the proper form. Then I try to add a new entry and chaos ensues. All of my carefully transcribed entries are ripped out of the main page MyJournal and stuck in something called MyJournal1. Yuck! How unimaginative. To make matters worse, it sorted the last alphabetically, which meant that the entries were sorted by day of week instead of chronologically. This is horrendous.
So I outdid myself today. I manually split things up the way I
wanted them to be, and will later write/expand on that journal module
so that it is faithful to my format. Now that's forward thinking,
eh? So check out the results by going to Blog::MyJournal. Then
when you see an entry you will notice a category underneath the title.
Click on the category and you will see more entries in that particular
category. Eventually I will use my wonderful customized Faces
collection to provide colorful semi-relevant icons for each category.
