After pointing someone to my website and getting the equivalent of "yuck!", I took another look at the color scheme. The menu colors didn't really blend with the rest of the site, so I changed them to blue on gray. It seems like an improvement.
I've updated the comments plug-in functionality on my blog to the latest version. As a result, previews of comments will be generated in a more interactive manner. Things should still Just Work if you're using a text-only web browser.
For those of you who want to be able to get an RSS feed of all of the comments posted here. that functionality is apparently on one of the pyblosxom developers' to-do lists. It's possible to get RSS feeds for comments on individual entries, but I'm not going to advertise how to do that unless someone can convince me that people really are willing to subscribe to such things. The proposed comments-for-all-entries feed seems much more useful to me.
I've now set up a resource for explaining why I take issue with Debian's GFDL vote. mostly as a reference for when the topic comes up again. It's called Debian GFDL Dissent.
It has been a while since I've enjoyed an anime enough to put a write-up on the site. The anime series Honey & Clover definitely merits one. Check it out at Website: Honey and Clover. In short: get this series — watching it will be one of the defining moments of your year if you are into anime at all.
I would like to find out if there are many false positives when posting comments to this blog. If you have tried to post a valid comment to one of my entries sometime in the past 4 months and it was rejected by Akismet, please email me (mwolson AT member DOT fsf DOT org) and either give the text of the comment or a rough idea of what it contained.
The reason I am doing this is because Akismet rejected one of my own comments to my "Scrapbook" page, and I received at least one other report from a friend that this was happening. This survey should give me an idea of the extent of the problem.
Since Debian has forced me to not distribute Muse's GFDL'd manual, I have prepared a separate Ubuntu-specific repository. It contains all of the software in the Debian repository, but with updated packages for Muse. I strongly recommend that even Debian users switch to this repository (though really, they should be switching to Ubuntu because it contains a non-crippled version of Emacs).
Here's the /etc/apt/sources.list line for the new repository.
deb http://www.mwolson.org/ubuntu/ ./
Note: It is possible to upgrade to Ubuntu from Debian sarge by doing the following. Edgy is the latest stable Ubuntu release at this time.
/etc/apt/sources.list to contain the following Ubuntu

I've updated my Frequently-answered questions section on the Website: About Me page to remove a couple of obsolete items and add a few new things, such as the following.
