Mercurial 1.0 was just released on March 24th. You should check it out. It promised to fix a lot of bothersome. Honestly after trying with Mercurial so many times and having so many unhappy teammates, I've started advocating Git again. Git's moved past the Linux-only barrier and is really starting to be usable for even OS X users.
