Blog - /Website
Two new sections have been added to my website. The Bookmarks section shows all of the bookmarks that I have made while browsing the web in Galeon, my web browser of choice. I am using bk2site to generate the bookmarks from my browser's bookmarks file. In order to integrate this with the rest of the site, I have put Related links at the bottom right of some pages. Clicking on one of these Related links will take you to a part of my bookmarks.
bk2site has been a fairly handy utility thus far. I find it annoying that I could not use relative links in the sub-pages of the bookmarks page, but this is not a major setback. I have not been able to test the search ability since Debian's mod_perl plugin for my apache server was not installing correctly, and I was marooned from the Internet at the time of testing. I also had to do some tweaking in order to approach XHTML 1.1 compliance for this Bookmarks section.
The Website: Philosophy page is a resting place (and breeding grounds) for various philosophical writings on free software and other various papers that I believe should have some net exposure. Now this really feels like a personal website.
The Website: Friends page has been purged of its yet to come status. There isn't much there at the moment, just the Bethel group page and the Related link. Yes, Kyle, you will eventually have some form of representation in this section. You too, Steve, my benevolent webmaster and friend.
Other minor changes include a slight CSS touch-up (use light blue instead of blue for visited links, use blue instead of green for fresh links). The pictures part is now titled Albums. Source code for my Emacs configuration files in the Projects section has been colorized in a nice way, so that it looks just like it does in my Emacs window. I redid the Website#OlderNews section. You will notice a nice table of contents there, and at the Home page as well. The Website: About Me table of contents has been expanded.
If I can muster the energy, I will start some sort of blog. Ideally, I would use Emacs to accomplish this, perhaps using Planner Mode. One trait that I will have to address is my tendency toward revisionism. It is considered bad netiquette to edit a blog entry once you have syndicated it, because then it is marked as new in RSS aggregators.
