We left at 4:30 this morning from Mishawaka, Indiana. Two SUV's for 8 people, plus luggage. Nothing notable happened other than a large traffic snag around Madison, Wisconsin. After around 12 hours of driving (with breaks every 2 hours or so to stretch our legs), we settled in at Albert Lea, Minnesota at the local Comfort Inn.
After a bit of tweaking and inquiring at the front desk for an access code, I am able to get wireless internet access. I got a call from Shaw on my cell phone. Getting a call just after entering the hotel room was about the last thing I expected, but it was a nice surprise. My sister Katie was able to update her blog by using my laptop, even though she's a tad wary of GNU/Linux. I used the opportunity to take an incriminating picture of her using my Penguin and Gnu-covered machine.
I'm beginning to think that pulling an all-nighter last night (to avoid having to wake up at 3:00 in the morning) was unwise.
