Star Wars Episode 3, Windoze blues

I saw Star Wars Episode 3 for the first time last Friday. Seeing it brought back memories of my euphoric first viewing of Star Wars a few years back when I saw Episode 1. The terse dialog that was cited by some as a disappointment did not bother me.

A few more things I liked in Episode 3 follow.

My current project is trying to prepare a Windows laptop for use of its new owner (my step-cousin) by installing service packs, antivirus software, anti-spyware software, and the like. Unfortunately, this computer had not had the infamous Service Pack 2 installed yet, and taking care of this myself seems to have messed up the Windows Update mechanism and caused the printer installation software to freeze up. You want proof that people can adapt to anything? I offer the fact that most people use Windows daily rather than GNU/Linux. Case closed.

I'm starting to get into a comfortable routine here at my dad's house. The first few days I was hacking like a fiend in order to get a release of ERC put together. RMS (the leader of the Free Software Foundation) has expressed some interest in getting ERC included with Emacs eventually. I contacted about 7 people in hopes of getting copyright assignments from them (necessary in order for ERC to get into Emacs).

By the way, if anyone out there happens to have an RSS reader than can post comments via CommentAPI, could you please send a test comment to this post, indicating that it was done with CommentAPI? I would very much like to see whether it works or not. Note that there will be a significant delay (for manual approval) until the comment appears on on my blog. I seem to be getting more spam comments — maybe this is due to CommentAPI working properly :^) .
