I found this presentation by Dale McGowan and Stu Tanquist quite interesting. It helps to gently dispel the notion that brainwashing kids with religion is the only good way to bring them up. Particularly encouraging was the idea that kids can make good choices if you present them with a sane world view. Particularly funny was Dale's description of the reactions of a pastor uncle near the end.
