New languages

Some of my new friends on #hcoop told me that I should at languages other than C to get `real work' done. ML looks interesting. We'll have to see. I feel like such a first class netizen now ... my own domain, sharing a common server with a bunch of people. It should be a good ride.

I caught up with Pat, who I haven't seen in a while. Jimmy and I are getting along well, like usual. He told me about his aunt's restaurants, and I was quite impressed. They have good service, friendly people, and perhaps even a bureaucracy that does not suck. I'm not holding my breath for that last item, but you never know.

I exorcised some of my perfectionism and revisionism in the redoing of a few of my face icons. You can see the results at the bottom of Website: About Me. I also transformed the icons/banners on the bottom of every page so that they have uniform height. Yeah, that's what happens when I have homework on my mind. I go into a special denial-induced hack mode.

I browsed Sacha Chua's short stories while in the windoze lab, killing time between classes. There's some good stuff. I recommend it. I was tempted to copy parts of some entries into my quotes page , but I thought it better just to refer to the page in my blog.
