Jimmy and I went shopping for some extras, like light sources, water purifiers, toilet cleaner, and the like. He showed me where to find Walmart, which makes me happy. I like Walmart much better than Super Target. The so-called `floodlight' that we purchased is barely sufficient, but it does add a bit of needed light to the room.
I found that Jimmy enjoys pizza, so I made some. This turned out much better than the ill-fated scones. It was easily one of the best pizzas I've ever made, even though it nearly burned. Apparently this oven runs hotter than it appears, so I'll have to adjust for that in the future. He offered to have an exchange of knowledge sometime in the near future: he would teach me to cook Chinese food and I will help him learn how to use the oven to make pizzas and the like.
I drove out the legion of viruses that were lurking in the inner depths of his computer. All in a day's work [cue spinning of invisible gun]. It looks like Clam Antivirus for Windoze is still not quite ready for serious use. It does not remove viruses by default, just identify them. It really should prompt me after the scan as to what I want to do with the viruses rather than assume I've already set the appropriate option. So it was back to using AVG Antivirus for a while. It's not GPL caliber in its freeness, but it is a free download at least, and is exceptionally easy to use.
The room is set up nicely. All of Jimmy's stuff has been retrieved from the four corners of the earth. We have a lot of room in the middle, which I like. Nothing for me to trip on, except the cable wire, but that is visible enough to not be a problem. Jimmy told me about what the traditional Chinese beautiful woman's face is supposed to look like. It's interesting to see how different cultures admire different traits. He said that tastes are changing somewhat due to modernization and cross-culture marriages, but that he is still a bit traditional in some ways. He said that I should find some posters of Japanese / anime chicks and post them in my section of the room, which would represent the two largest Asian cultures. Perhaps I'll find a nearby laser printer and print out a few of my desktop backgrounds. Yeah, that'd be fun.
Limeade when mixed liberally with water tastes like Lemon-lime Gatorade. It also makes the supply last a bit longer, which is helpful. The fewer trips in my car, the better. One problem with having girls across the hall: having to hear loud girltalk late at night. <grumble />. For the uninformed, that last phrase is an XHTML compliant way of adding expression to a web document or conversation, even though it means nothing to the web browsing program. The IRC equivalent is: /me grumbles.
Blogging may have several benefits to it. It makes the blogger feel like a virtuoso, performing for an unseen audience. It prepares conversation topics for the duration of the day and prepares the mind to engage in certain forms of conversation. It may be a way for men to be able to match the conversational prowess of the stereotypical woman, in theory.
