Hot light bulbs

This has been quite the week for "learning experiences". Learning experience #5 of 6: when investigating the cause of a light going out, do not touch the bulb. Particularly if the metal surface of the light fixture has been known to be hot in the past.

I just touched a hot light bulb a couple of days ago and had a similar learning experience.  There's an interesting thing about learning experiences that end up with burned fingers: you have a constant reminder for a few days.  I think this sort of burned-finger-reinforcement really drives the lesson home.  That's the theory.

I'm not sure how well it works in practice because I'm pretty sure I've done this sort of thing before.
