We saw an advertisement on the TV yesterday for The Matrix to be shown today at 19:00. We watched that, and then the entire (I think) Animatrix, which followed it. Then Jimmy found [adult swim] on some network. [adult swim] is about 4 hours of quality television, mostly animé, that is shown on the Cartoon Network, IIRC. I watched it at Dad's house quite a bit since he has satellite TV.

What really distinguishes [adult swim], other than their kawaii use of brackets (speaking as an Emacs Wiki veteran) is the way they handle commercial breaks. There is only one commercial break per show, IIRC, and instead of showing commercials right away, they show some random piece of Japanese scenery, like a city scene, and blend the [adult swim] logo in someplace. The name of the show they are currently playing is also around somewhere, and some tasteful music is played in the background. I'm typing this during commercial breaks, and I can tell when the commercials are over because the music turns from gawdy and commercial to tasteful. Cowboy Bebop is on right now. They've played Tri-gun and Website: Serial Experiments Lain before, also.
