I took the time to learn the ML language (SML97, in particular) over break. I will express my first impression of the language as an "acropun"¹:

Seems a Mockery of Lisp. Now Jaded.

I expect to change this impression on seeing some projects implemented in the language, such as Domtool 2.

1. A pun in the form of an acronym. I made the word up in hopes of legitimizing one of my humor devices.
