I've made it all the way to the final boss. The path to get to him was challenging enough that I got a Game Over message once and had to start over. There is one more fight afterward, but it is cake — my guide tells me so. I'm trying to be better about not using guides so much, but I just want to be done with this game and move on to something different.

That boss ate me alive, figuratively. I attacked one of his Yu machines, or whatever they're called, and managed to get 2 of my characters turned to stone. I reverse the spell on one of them. Then my other (still stoned ... heh, I love ambiguity) character was turned into tiny pieces of rubble thanks to an attack from the boss. Curses. I'm stuck now with only 2 players that I can use per round to attack him. I figure that's pretty much game over, so I ply the boss with various approaches to see what is effective against him. Hmmm, this one looks tough. Maybe I shouldn't have chosen to flee from my last 15 random enemy encounters or so and leveled up instead. But the continuation will come some other day.

In other news, I will be tentatively seeing Hitchhikers' Guide to the Galaxy with Shaw and Anya. This is a good thing (TM). It means missing the end of the year PLUG meeting, but it's a worthwhile trade-off. Hmm, guess I could always schedule another meeting during finals week (next week) though. On another note, it is nice to meet people in person who I know from "the Wired". I remember when I met Daniel for the first time in person at a PLUG meeting and how for a while everyone referred to each other by their IRC screen name.
