There was a CS Faculty/Student Mixer today, which provided free refreshments (chicken sandwiches and sweet tea) from Chick-fil-A. We had a class that met during part of it right next door, so after class, about half of the class took up a table, munched chicken, and ruminated about CS. Occasionally a prof would join in for brief moments. Good times were had. I even managed to get an Emacs mention into the conversation, at which point someone called me an Emacs demigod (which felt kind of strange). This sort of event I enjoy the most: talking tech with old friends and new friends over a food-laden table.
