Chasing threads

Here are a few more threads that have been defying expression since vacation.

One of the most interesting things about my recent vacation was seeing a coyote at Yellowstone. It walked right in front of the car ahead of us, stopped at the edge of the road, and gave a brief howl. The picture was taken just after it had stopped howling and started moving off the road.

My schedule is starting to fill up again, now that school is nearly begun. The days are becoming allocated, with small fragments of time in between events. On that note, I will be finally getting my PGP key signed by a Debian developer! Ryan Stutsman and I will be driving to Indianapolis to meet some people at Progeny — a few of them will sign our keys. Perhaps even Branden Robinson and Ian Murdock will be among those, though I'm not certain who will be involved.

Romain Francoise is my new sponsor for ERC. He gave me some good advice about generating packages, which I've applied to my Makefile system for Emacs Wiki: Planner Muse Port, Projects: Emacs Muse, and Projects: Emacs Wiki Mode. Composing Makefiles is one of the things that I enjoy doing. Part of the allure may be that typing make release and the like remind me of the commands that you can pass to a text-based role-playing game. make me-a-sammich.

It looks like ERC is finally on its way to becoming a part of Emacs. I had to do a thorough appraisal of the contributions made by several people to ERC, but it seems to have paid off. The next few high-priority items on my short-term TODO list are:
