Lemongrass disappoints on the Pad Thai

In my previous post on Lemongrass, I noted how they did the General Tso's Chicken dish right. Alas, they did not do so well on the Pad Thai. It was wrong in just about every way. The noodles were angel-hair, which doesn't make sense outside of Italian dishes. The seasoning was not reminiscent of other Pad Thai dishes at all, and was bland. They used whole peanuts rather than chopped peanuts. The green herbs (I don't know what they're called) that taste good in Asian cucumber salads simply don't belong in Pad Thai. It was just a complete disaster.

About those green herbs... perhaps they were cilantro?  the stuff that goes in salsa.

I feel your pain about the angle-hair.  That's totally inexcusable.  And not crushing the peanuts is sheer laziness.

Sadly, I haven't even tried Pad Thai at any of the Thai restaurants here.  I've been more interested in the meals that come Thai-Spicy (hottest).  It's all about that endorphin rush and the flavor.  It's totally untrue that hot-spicy trumps flavor.

Yeah, it was probably cilantro.

One local Thai restaurant (called "Basil Thai") makes pretty good
stuff.  I'm a fan of their Pad Thai, when ordered "spicy".  I had a
beef/cucumber salad there also, once, and enjoyed it.
